Like most brides you have spent time thinking about what your ‘YES’ moment will be like. You may have also binged on shows like ‘Say Yes to the Dress.’ Which, whilst we love these as much as the next girl, they can create a false expectation of what your experience will be like.
So, I hear you ask a familiar question ‘How will I know when I have found my dress?’
Here is our advice…
Think about you as a shopper, are you impulsive, decisive, excitable, emotional, reflective, indecisive?
Whilst for some appointments tears are a sure sign that you have found your dress, if you are more laid back and understated, then this is not likely to be your reaction. It is important to remember that everyone is different. For some people knowing they have found their dress is in the subtly of their body language. Think feeling confident and relaxed and being able to see yourself walking down the aisle or dancing the night away!
At O&R creating the perfect shopping experience is our passion. We’re all about understanding you, your style and the vibe of the wedding you are creating. We understand what a big decision saying yes to your dress is and are here to help guide every step of the way.
At the start of your buying journey, it is important to be open minded about trying on different shapes and sizes. Having scoured the internet and bridal magazines you may have started with a clear picture of what you want but this often changes once you start trying dresses on. This is where our bridal experts come in, we will listen to your likes and dislikes and will help you refine and narrow down the selection until we have found the perfect dress for you.
Again, for some this is an easy quick process but for others a bit of time to reflect really helps.
In our experience it is also common to be torn between two completely differing styles, loving them both and feeling the pressure of which one do I love more. This is where the tiniest of details matter. You will no doubt look beautiful in both, so follow your instincts and think about your wedding and what you can see yourself in on the big day. We find a second try of just these two at the end of the appointment really helps you know which one is ‘The One.’
